There are five key areas or concepts that you need to understand to be able to study Media Studies effectively , they are;

Language: media technology e.g. Close-ups , editing.

Instition:organization e.g. BBC

Ideology: values/legal/moral. Represents ideas about that social group.

Audience: Consumers of the media. How they consume the media

Representation: Represents our society back to the audience , their values.
